PRACTICAL RESOURCES

Checklists

Keep useful questions within reach, before you book and when you arrive.

Prepare for your arrival.

A few clear prompts can make a busy travel day easier. Use the arrival checklist on this page, then explore the question sheets below when you need more detail. These tools help you organize observations and questions; completing one does not establish that a hotel is safe.

Hotel Check-In Checklist

Arrival preparation checklist

Before you book

Keep the details that matter to your trip in one place. Start with the property address, your travel dates, and the features you need confirmed.

  • Confirm which business is taking your reservation and payment.
  • Read the cancellation terms and save the total quoted price.
  • Ask about arrival arrangements and any room features you depend on.
  • Save the booking confirmation where you can find it offline.

Open the before-booking question sheet for a more complete set of prompts.

When something needs attention

Describe what you noticed, where it is, and when you first saw it. Ask what will happen next and keep a brief note of the response. If an immediate threat or serious injury needs urgent help, attend to that before using a worksheet.

  • Write a factual description of the concern.
  • Record the date, time, and location.
  • Note who you spoke with and the proposed next step.
  • Keep relevant confirmation messages and receipts together.

Open the room-concern notes sheet or read how to raise a concern with hotel staff.

Using the tools

Checklist selections are handled in the current browser page. They are not a saved travel record. You can use the print control for a paper copy, or use your browser’s print menu on the question and notes sheets. Keep copies containing room numbers or other personal details somewhere private.
